K.J. Hughes, Faculty Director
K.J. Hughes ’14 & ’20, a veteran of the sports and entertainment industry, has served as the faculty director for the Smith Sports and Entertainment Business program since 2018.
Hughes is the founder and managing partner of Washington, D.C.-based Relentless Management Group, Adjunct Professor at the Smith School of Business and current Senior Advisor to the President of Washington Football Team.
His firm offers tax planning, budgeting, strategy, logistics and business management services exclusively for professional athletes, entertainers, and entrepreneurs. With over 15 years of industry experience, his colleagues have grown to include: record and movie industry executives, marketers, studio heads, sports agents, celebrity publicists, and world-renowned brands.
As a Hillman entrepreneur scholarship recipient, Hughes earned his associate degree with honors from Prince George’s Community College and his bachelor’s and MBA degrees from Maryland Smith in 2014 and 2020 respectively. Hughes is active in both venture capital and nonprofit; serving as Venture Partner at Fox Venture and co-founder of Sons of Life Inc., a nonprofit that provides leadership, resources and mentoring to children of incarcerated parents.
Ebony Fullwood, Administrative Director
Ebony Fullwood relocated to Maryland in the fall of 2002 from Raleigh, North Carolina. She received her BA in public policy analysis from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her MA in higher education administration from George Washington University. Before joining the staff at the University of Maryland at College Park, Fullwood was an academic advisor at the University of Maryland University College for three years, and for four years prior to that, she worked at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in various student services positions. In her spare time, she enjoys watching movies, spending time with family and friends, attending concerts, and watching college basketball games.
